The Madeira Beach Fire Department traces its roots back to the late 1940s and early 1950s, when a dedicated group of local volunteers formed the city’s first firefighting and police force alongside the newly incorporated City of Madeira Beach in 1947.

Today, the department operates from Station 25, as a single-station with fully career-staffed firefighter/paramedics. The department staffs Truck 25 (aerial apparatus), ALS medic unit, marine rescue unit, high-water rescue vehicle for flooding emergencies, and specialized beach rescue equipment to support the city’s beaches, waterways, festivals, and large-scale community events. |

The department responds to an average of 2,000 emergency calls annually while also providing service through mutual aid partnerships to the neighboring communities of Redington Beach. Looking toward the future, the department is actively expanding regional coverage with the development of Station 73 in North Redington Beach, expected to open in early spring 2027.
Each year, firefighters host a 9/11 Day of Remembrance Ceremony at Patriot Park featuring a structural steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center as a lasting tribute to those lost. The department supports mental health initiatives for first responders and military personnel through the annual Legends Never Die 5K and is also known locally for Clover, the beloved firehouse dog adopted in 2018.
