June 2026 - Las Vegas Station 6

The original “Bad Dogs” logo was created in the early 1990s by firefighter artist Alan Albatis, founder of Fire Art by Alan Albatis, and commissioned by retired LVFR Captain Angelo Aragon while both men were assigned to Firehouse 6.

After traveling back East and seeing the powerful identities carried by firehouses in cities like Chicago, Captain Aragon wanted Firehouse 6 to have a symbol of its own — something that reflected the pride, grit, and culture of the house. The result was the “Bad Dogs” logo, believed to be the first station-specific firehouse logo in Nevada. It became a symbol recognized throughout the valley and helped shape the station pride and identity that still exists today.

Originally established in 1962 near upland drive, Firehouse 6 has always been a blue-collar neighborhood firehouse. In 2010, LVFR opened “New 6” at Torrey Pines and Oakey, continuing the traditions built at the original house while protecting the Charleston Heights neighborhood just outside the downtown core.

The new “Dog House” logo was designed to honor both the legacy of the original “Bad Dogs” era and the identity of modern Firehouse 6. The standing bulldog is modeled after the iconic Vegas Vic pose, tying the house directly to the history and swagger of Las Vegas. The Stratosphere and the classic “Welcome to Las Vegas” star represent the city the house proudly serves. The palm trees, street signs, and downtown-inspired artwork reflect the neighborhoods and culture surrounding the station. The “Bad Dogs” banners remain proudly displayed, honoring the generations who carried that name before.

History of the Dice

The dice at the bottom of the logo also carry layered meaning. Historically, LVFR apparatus featured dice showing “4” and “3” to represent Lucky 7. Over time, crews began customizing the dice to reflect their station numbers. Firehouse 6 carries double threes — representing the house itself while still keeping the Vegas tradition alive. The dice can also be read as “snake eyes,” another iconic nod to Las Vegas culture.

The “1” and “4” hidden within the logo pay tribute to Firehouses 1 and 4 — two of LVFR’s busiest downtown companies and houses where many longtime members of Firehouse 6 previously served. Their influence helped shape the culture, standards, and identity carried into the Dog House today.

And at the center of it all sits the answer to the question:
Where do Bad Dogs live? In the Dog House.

From their house to yours.
